ArminerA 2023: “The leading international mining exhibition in Argentina”

Conclusions & Summary Report:

Organized by the Argentine Chamber of Mining Entrepreneurs (CAEM) and Messe Frankfurt Argentina, Arminera 2023 (celebrating its 25th anniversary) was attended by more than 12,000 visitors, with a surface of 15 thousand square meters, more than 280 exhibiting companies, 7 country delegations and more than 40 sponsors.

Among the political representatives present on the exhibition there were the governors of the Argentine provinces of Río Negro, Santa Cruz, Catamarca, Jujuy, La Rioja, and Salta. There was also a strong presence of authorities from the provinces of San Juan, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires.

The following countries were present: Germany, Australia, Brazil, Chile, Italy, Israel, the Netherlands, Panama, Peru, Poland and Switzerland.

A full schedule of activities

The agenda of activities started on Monday morning with the EU-LATAM Commodities Convention “Promoting investments in sustainable raw material value chains between the European Union and Latin America”. The event was financed by the European Union in the framework of its EU-Latin America Partnership on Raw Material project and aimed to promote and intensify cooperation between the European Union and seven Latin American partner countries along the value chains of the mineral-based industries: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay,

Meanwhile, CAEM and IDEA organized the CEO meeting “The Opportunity and Challenges of the Mining Industry in Argentina”, where the first-hand vision of the sector’s leaders was shared.

On the other hand, CADIM (Argentine Association of Mining Engineers) organized the seminar “The Role of the Mining Industry and its Value Chain”. organized the seminar “The Role of Mining Engineering in Argentine Mining Development”, which sought to boost the efficiency of the industry, focusing on the role of engineering.

The event “Israel Conferences” was also held, where a lecture was given on the current state of  the Israeli mining sector and its global vision. There, the diplomatic corps of Israel in the Republic of Argentina gave a lecture on “Israel: 75 years of life, entrepreneurship and technological innovation”, on the new technologies applicable in the global mining sector and its potential for mining projects in Argentina.

Australia was the guest country, with 12 companies present in its pavilion, and held a  Seminar where different lectures were given on three main topics: mining projects in Argentina; Australian innovation applied to the mining sector; and sustainable mining and social license.

The 3rd Local Supplier Development Meeting had more than 1,800 meetings. 100 buyers from Argentina’s mining provinces traveled from 39 sites to meet with the exhibitors.

On the other hand, the International Business Round of the Mining Industry, organized by Argentinean Investment and International Trade Agency and Messe Frankfurt Argentina had the participation of international buyers and generated 179 meetings with local companies

The full agenda of activities was complemented with the exhibition of products and services by the exhibiting companies and the Machinery Square, where large machinery was exhibited in an open-air space covering a total area of 1,500 m2.

The next edition of ArminerA already has a date: it will take place from 20 to May 22, 2025 at La Rural Predio Ferial, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
