CAEM representa a las empresas líderes de la gran y mediana minería internacional, a las pequeñas empresas internacionales de exploración metalífera y a la pequeña y mediana empresa minera nacional, dedicada a principalmente a rocas de aplicación y materiales para la construcción. Asimismo, apoya a las diversas empresas proveedoras del sector, desde fabricantes de equipamiento minero, hasta proveedores de insumos y de servicios, técnicos, legales y financieros.

La Cámara Argentina de Empresarios Mineros (CAEM) nace en 1991, absorbiendo en su estatuto a la Cámara de la Minería Metalífera y a la Confederación Minera Argentina, frente a la necesidad de la industria de crear una entidad de representación federal que cubra todo el espectro de la actividad minera.

Su misión es contribuir al desarrollo de la actividad minera argentina a través de la articulación con los distintos actores de la industria, la sociedad y el Estado.

OBJETIVOS

REPRESENTACIÓN Representar activamente ante los gobiernos federal y provinciales acerca de políticas públicas que puedan influir en el desarrollo de la industria.

DIÁLOGO Facilitar el diálogo entre los grupos de interés relacionados con la industria minera en el país.

COMUNIDADES Representar los intereses del sector en las comunidades donde se desarrolla la actividad.

ASESORAMIENTO Asesoramiento legal y técnico en distintas áreas.

SUSTENTABILIDAD Promover el uso de estándares para mejorar el desarrollo sustentable de la industria minera.

AMBIENTE Impulsar el uso de las mejores prácticas internacionales para la preservación del ambiente.

GOBERNANZA Fomentar la gobernanza, la transparencia y la ética pública en las actividades del sector.

COMUNICACIÓN Comunicar e informar adecuadamente a la opinión pública sobre la actividad minera en el país.

DERECHOS HUMANOS Afirmar el reconocimiento de los derechos humanos y el respeto de la cultura y las costumbres de las comunidades donde opera el sector.
