CHILE: La Estrategia Nacional del Litio es un conjunto de medidas que buscan incorporar capital, tecnología, sostenibilidad y agregación de valor al sector productivo en armonía con las comunidades.

Las acciones que componen la Estrategia Nacional del Litio son:

• Iniciar un proceso de diálogos y participación con los diversos actores
• Crear la Empresa Nacional del Litio
• Crear una Red de Salares Protegidos y en aquellos salares en régimen de explotación, asegurar el uso de tecnologías de bajo impacto ambiental
• Modernizar el marco institucional
• Crear un Instituto Tecnológico y de Investigación Público de Litio y Salares
• Incorporar al Estado en la actividad productiva del Salar de Atacama
• Prospección de otros salares

Empresa Nacional del Litio

Parte esencial de la estrategia anunciada por el Presidente Gabriel Boric es la creación de la Empresa Nacional del Litio, un hito histórico que permitirá aumentar las riquezas para el país mediante un esfuerzo liderado por el Estado que involucra al sector privado en todo el proceso productivo.

La Estrategia Nacional del Litio se desarrollará para lograr los siguientes objetivos:

• Aumentar las riquezas para Chile
• Desarrollar una industria sostenible para el país y el mundo
• Desarrollar tecnología y encadenamientos productivos
• Fortalecer la sostenibilidad social y ambiental
• Sostenibilidad fiscal
• Aportar a la diversificación productiva y potencial de crecimiento regional
• El liderazgo mundial de Chile en la industria del litio, mediante la articulación con actores nacionales e internacionales

Con lo anterior se busca asegurar:

• El involucramiento del Estado en todo el ciclo industrial mediante la creación de la Empresa Nacional del Litio y el Comité Corfo de Litio y Salares
• La creación de capacidades por medio de un Instituto Tecnológico y de Investigación Público de Litio y Salares
• El desarrollo de asociaciones público-privadas para el crecimiento de la industria y exploración de recursos
• La sostenibilidad política y social a través del involucramiento de territorios y comunidades
• Garantizar una adecuada modernización del marco institucional para la industria, acorde a los desafíos y objetivos del país.

The actions that make up the National Lithium Strategy are:

National Lithium Company

An essential part of the strategy announced by President Gabriel Boric is the creation of the National Lithium Company, a historic milestone that will increase the country’s wealth through a state-led effort that involves the private sector in the entire production process.

• Capacity building through a Public Lithium and Salt Flat Technological and Research Institute.

• The development of public-private partnerships for industry growth and resource exploration.

• Political and social sustainability through the involvement of territories and communities.

• Ensure an adequate modernization of the institutional framework for the industry, in line with the challenges and objectives of the country.
