La Apuesta por el RIGI y la Expansión de la Asociación

El gigante chino Ganfeng Lithium, junto con su socia Lithium Argentina (LAR), está ratificando su interés en el litio argentino. Las compañías avanzarán en la solicitud para ingresar al Régimen de Incentivos a las Grandes Inversiones (RIGI), no solo para Pozuelos Pastos Grandes, sino también para la expansión de Cauchari Olaroz.

Las presentaciones formales ante el Gobierno Nacional se realizarían a principios del 2026. Es importante señalar que esta decisión se da a pesar de que el Gobierno Nacional ya había rechazado previamente el RIGI para el proyecto Mariana, de Ganfeng, que ya está en producción en Salta.

En la Nueva Empresa Conjunta (Nueva JV) de PPG, Ganfeng poseerá el 67% y Lithium Argentina el 33%. LAR, que cotiza en las bolsas de Canadá y Nueva York, y es la compañía resultante de la división de Lithium Americas (LAC), cuenta también con el 44,8% de Cauchari Olaroz.

The companies will move forward with their application to join the Large Investment Incentive Regime (RIGI), not only for Pozuelos Pastos Grandes, but also for the expansion of Cauchari Olaroz.

Formal presentations to the national government are expected to be made in early 2026. It is important to note that this decision comes despite the fact that the national government had previously rejected the RIGI for Ganfeng’s Mariana project, which is already in production in Salta.
