Argentina Energy Roundtable: US- Argentina Collaboration, Energy Transition and Natural Gas

8 mayo, 2024

The Milei administration passed the 100-day mark in mid-April striving to translate campaign rhetoric to policies. Despite the delays in the approval of the “Omnibus Law”, the deregulation and the business outlook for the energy sector have continued, with a proactive approach to reset the sector’s role in the economy.

Foremost, as expected, has been the process of normalizing energy and public service tariffs to reflect true costs while incentivizing the rational use of resources. The international relations and collaboration stance of the government have also been notable. This is particularly true in the energy and mining sectors. Meetings, visits and exchanges with the United States and a wide range of officials have underscored the importance of the bilateral relationship.

In coordination with our local partner CEARE/UBA, we are pleased to host our annual Argentina Energy Roundtable on May 8 at the Alvear Palace Hotel in Buenos Aires. Our event this year will focus on US-Argentina energy and critical mineral collaboration, investment protection and mechanisms for increasing investment, energy transition minerals and renewables, as well as natural gas as a tool for decarbonization.

Thematic Agenda

  • US- Argentina Collaboration: Focus on Energy and Critical Minerals
  • Investment Protection – focus on Energy, Mining and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG)
  • Energy Transition Minerals and Renewables
  • Natural Gas as a Tool for Decarbonization
