Argentina: Acuerdo entre Lake Resources e YPF Luz para el suministro de energía en el proyecto de litio Kachi ▶️ Argentina: Agreement between Lake Resources and YPF Luz for the supply of energy at the Kachi lithium project

La minera australiana Lake Resources firmó una Carta de Intención (LOI) con YPF Luz, empresa argentina de generación eléctrica sostenible, para el proyecto de salmuera de litio Kachi en la Provincia de Catamarca.

YPF Luz llevará a cabo el trabajo de Diseño de Ingeniería de Frente para el sistema propuesto de suministro de energía.

Según el acuerdo firmado Lake Resources y YPF Luz participarán en discusiones exclusivas no vinculantes para evaluar y negociar acuerdos relacionados con la construcción de la línea de alta tensión por parte de YPF Luz para la capacidad de energía y la entrega del suministro de energía por parte de YPF Luz para Kachi. El FEED se desarrollará durante el resto de 2024.

“Después de llevar a cabo un proceso exhaustivo para la solución de energía de Kachi, estamos muy contentos de entablar negociaciones exclusivas con YPF Luz”, dijo David Dickson, CEO de Lake. 

“Establecer la entrega de una solución de energía para Kachi es un hito crítico para el desarrollo de este Proyecto. Esperamos trabajar junto con YPF Luz, que ha demostrado experiencia en llevar energía a áreas remotas de Argentina y comparte nuestro compromiso con la sostenibilidad. Tanto el gobierno federal como el estatal en Argentina están ansiosos por ver el desarrollo responsable de las exportaciones de litio para ayudar con la balanza de pagos y las reservas extranjeras de Argentina, y llevar energía a las provincias ricas en recursos es una parte clave de esto”, dijo el Sr. Dickson.

Australian mining company Lake Resources signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with YPF Luz, an Argentine sustainable power generation company, for the Kachi lithium brine project in Catamarca Province.

YPF Luz will carry out the Front End Engineering Design work for the proposed power supply system.

Under the signed agreement Lake Resources and YPF Luz will engage in exclusive non-binding discussions to evaluate and negotiate agreements related to the construction of the high voltage line by YPF Luz for power capacity and the delivery of the power supply by YPF Luz for Kachi. The FEED will run through the remainder of 2024.

“After conducting a comprehensive process for the Kachi power solution, we are very pleased to enter into exclusive negotiations with YPF Luz,” said David Dickson, CEO of Lake.

“Establishing the delivery of a power solution for Kachi is a critical milestone for the development of this Project. Both the federal and state governments in Argentina are eager to see responsible development of lithium exports to help with Argentina’s balance of payments and foreign reserves, and bringing power to resource-rich provinces is a key part of this,” said Mr. Dickson.
